The Library

Welcome to the Library Learning Centre, where nurturing a love of reading is our priority.

Our setting is bright and airy, with lots of space to curl up with a good book.  It’s a place where children can lose themselves in a magical story, pore over incredible information books, discuss their favourite author, share impossible stories, research topics online, create amazing artwork, present ideas, and learn about their place in the wider world.

Class visits, tutor time, clubs and shared group reading sessions are just some of the ways we ensure pupils have access to quality texts and online resources.

Throughout the school year we participate in national awards, competitions, and initiatives such as The Greenaway Award, BBC 500 Words and Non-Fiction November.  Closer to home include the Channel Islands Children’s Book Awards, the Write Stuff competition, and the Summer Reading Challenge.  And during the Alderney Literary Festival we welcomed Anthony Horowitz to the school. He loved the island so much; he based his 2020 novel, A Line to Kill here!

Our library is at the heart of the school, celebrating the joy of books every day.
